Making a Complaint

All IFA members must comply with a Code of Ethics adopted from the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), covering issues such as integrity, objectivity, professional competence, due care, confidentiality and professional behaviour.

Our members are required to sign a declaration of their personal commitment to consistently upholding the highest ethical standards; as part of our responsibility to the public, we regulate their activities, taking disciplinary action if required.

Should you believe that you have grounds to complain about one of our members, affiliates or students, we have procedures in place to expedite a satisfactory solution.

To deal with your complaint promptly and fairly, we’ll ask you for:

• The name of the individual you wish to complain about
• A clear and concise summary of the complaint
• Any supporting documentation that substantiates the complaint
• Confirmation as to whether any legal proceedings are intended, or have already commenced
• Your consent that all documentation you have submitted may be disclosed to the other party to the complaint, to the IFA's conduct committees and to other relevant third parties
• Completed, signed and dated complaint form

Your completed complaints form should be signed, dated and sent to:
