Our Heritage

Established in 1916, the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) is one of the largest professional accountancy bodies in the United Kingdom and the largest of the non-chartered bodies of accountants with over 10,000 members in over 80 countries.

Our members, who are employed in industry, commerce, the public sector and public practice, are regulated and adhere to the highest level of quality and ethical practice. This has been highlighted by our status as full members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
