IFA Library

The ICAEW Library & Information Service (LIS) provides a range of services and resources for IFA members and students.

Library Enquiry Service

An experienced , friendly team is available throughout the day to take your enquiries by telephone, email or in person. The team welcomes straightforward questions that can be dealt wirth immediately or enquiries that need more detailed research. Most help is free; with very reasonable charges made for providing you with copies (via our document delivery service), research time for more complex enquiries and the provision of mailing lists and company reports. We always respond to enquiries within 24 hours.

Book loans and document delivery

You can borrow books from the Library and we will send them to your work or home address free of charge. When you first borrow from us, you will need to register and give us your IFA membership or student number but this doesn’t take long and can be done over the phone.

We can supply extracts from books, model documents and journal articles by email (where available), fax or post. There is a charge for this service.

If you wish to borrow books you will have to register with the LIS. This can be done the first time you borrow books. It does not take long and you do not have to fill in any forms. You can register either when you visit the Library, or by phone. Please have your IFA member or student number available. To use the loan service you agree to certain conditions of use (available at www.icaew.com/ifalibrary).

Charged services

If you use a service for which we charge, you will be asked to pay in advance. We accept credit and debit card payments (Mastercard, Visa, Maestro and Delta), cheques or cash. Many LIS services are free and if you do use a charged for service any charges will be agreed with you beforehand.

The Chartered Accountants’ Trust for Education and Research, a registered charity, owns the library and maintains and operates it for the Institute
