FTA Students

Passing exams leading to the FTA qualification is the key to gaining admittance to, and enjoying the benefits of, the FTA. This includes use of the designatory letters AFTA or FFTA after your name, underlining credibility with your clients and giving them peace of mind that they’re dealing with a professional tax adviser.

You’ll also enjoy:

  • Magazine: A bi-monthly members magazine, keeping you posted about what the FTA are doing and providing insights from Council and fellow members on what’s happening in the tax profession and associated business issues.
  • Technical support hotline: A technical support hotline to help you unravel painful or obscure tax rules.
  • Events & seminars: Invites to exclusive FTA member events and discounted seminars (as well as entry to relevant seminars staged by the IFA).
  • Discounts: Fantastic discounts on a range of products and services from an expanding list of partners.
  • ICAEW online tax faculty: Password-protected access to the ICAEW’s wealth of online tax resources.

Once you have successfully completed the Professional Tax Adviser module you are eligible for two years’ Associate Membership of the FTA. Eligibility to renew your membership after this period is subject to your having passed the ethics module by attending the ethics workshop.
