Depending on the qualification you follow the IFA will help you to progress to becoming a Financial Accountant Executive (and able to use FAE designatory letters) or an Associate (and able to use AFA designatory letters) member. Or if you wish to pursue a career in tax how to progress to AFTA (Associate Federation of Tax Advisers).

You will need to demonstrate understanding of ethics to progress. To do this you must follow some ethics learning and complete an assessment. You will receive the assessment via email and have 8 weeks to complete it. You then return your electronic answers to the IFA by email. Exam conditions are not required.

UK students - the IFA offers annual workshops in London, please check the IFA website for any dates; or you may follow the IFA’s online learning material.
International students – you will need to complete the IFA’s online learning.
The IFA will let you know when you sign up for a qualification what your pathway through to professional membership is and what you will need to do.
