IFA communication regarding coronavirus
5 March 2020
With the Government having published the Coronavirus action plan: a guide to what you can expect across the UK on Tuesday (3 March 2020), I would like to advise you that the Institute proposes to maintain business as usual.
This means that we shall continue to operate and support members, run our branch events, workshops and conferences as normal and as advertised on the IFA website.
We have and will continue to liaise with venues that we use for our events to ensure they are following and adhering to the public health guidelines. Should Government advice change we will review our policy and act accordingly.
I ask that when attending any IFA event that you too are mindful of the health guidelines, in particular the regular washing of hands. Many people are choosing not to shake hands at public events, and I am sure that no offence would be taken if this is the approach you choose to take.
We shall also continue visiting member firms which are scheduled to receive an AML visit. Alternative arrangements/dates will only be made in the event of exceptional circumstances, for example, if the firm has had to implement isolation procedures involving employees and clients or if the guidance from the government on the coronavirus changes.
Should you have any questions regarding this please do not hesitate to contact the IFA, and if it is in relation to your AML visit, please contact your AML reviewer.
I recommend that you visit the Government website to keep up to date with the latest information and advice on travel to and from different regions of the world.
Thank you for your understanding and support
John Edwards FFA FIPA
Chief Executive Officer
