About the speakers
Nicola Marks joined Blacks Solicitors in October 2013 as a Secretary in the employment and corporate & commercial teams. She is now a Paralegal in the Employment team where she assists with all aspects of employment law.
Nicola has recently enrolled with CILEx Law School where she is studying to become a chartered legal executive.
She has assisted the solicitors in the employment team on various aspects of employment law from reviewing and amending staff handbooks and contracts of employment, to assisting on Employment Tribunal claims including representing claimants at preliminary hearings and attending hearings with Counsel and the client to assist where needed.
Euan Lawrence joined Blacks Solicitors in 2006 where he trained and qualified in 2008. He became a Partner in the Employment team in 2019.
He specialises in providing clear, practical advice on workplace disputes and other aspects of employment law to employers (predominantly owner-managed businesses) and individual employees.
Particular areas of strength include drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, advising on exit strategies, preparing service agreements, advising on TUPE transfers and contesting Employment Tribunal claims.
Euan has considerable experience of presenting on a variety of topics to clients and business contacts both through Blacks and his involvement with a BNI networking group (of which he has been a member for over 10 years).
Euan has also been recognised by The Legal 500 for his “enthusiastic and extremely dedicated” approach.
