About the speaker:
Dr. Mahendiran
Dr. Mahendiran is an accomplished C-Suite executive and visiting academic, combining over 30 years of corporate leadership with more than 15 years of university teaching experience.
He currently operates as a Freelance Business Consultant and Senior Visiting Lecturer, following a distinguished 16-year tenure as the Group Director of Operations & Finance at Excel Global Holdings. In this C-suite role, he managed a multinational portfolio spanning manufacturing, exports, education, energy, and entertainment across Sri Lanka, the UK, Hong Kong, Jordan, and India.
Dr. Mahendiran possesses deep expertise in corporate finance, treasury management, board dynamics, and governance. His foundational executive background includes pivotal roles as the Head of Finance at Cargills (Ceylon) PLC and management leadership at St. Anthony’s Consolidated. Throughout his corporate career, he has built a strong track record of driving business turnarounds, managing risk, crafting robust corporate strategies, and leading organizational transformations while fostering vital shareholder and board relationships.
In tandem with his corporate achievements, he has spent over 15 years lecturing and supervising research at leading Sri Lankan State Universities and transnational higher education institutes.
