Complaint: The allegations were that Mr Saha, as sole practitioner of Shan Taxcare Ltd had failed to provided information and documents within a reasonable specified period in accordance with MLR 2017 66 (2)(a) and had failed to adhere to the fundamental principle of professional behaviour in the Code of Ethics, which imposes an obligation on all professional accountants ‘to comply with relevant laws and regulations […] and avoid any conduct that the accountant knows or should know might discredit the profession’.

Finding: The Disciplinary Committee found the matters proved.

Sentencing order: Severe reprimand, fine of £1950 and costs of £5400.
