Paul Malin Tax Disputes

For over 30 years Paul has helped UK taxpayers resolve their tax investigations and disputes. Paul is a now a self employed consultant, but his career has included working for top accountancy firms including EY, Grant Thornton and Haines Watts.

Paul helps taxpayers under any form of tax investigation. To date he has helped many taxpayers resolve their UK tax problems. This can be a taxpayer who is an individual, partner, company, settlor or beneficiary of trusts. The taxes involved can be either direct taxes (such as income tax, corporation tax etc.) and/or indirect taxes (VAT, import duties etc.).  


Kishan Kavi, Bonham and Brook

Senior Compliance Manager at Bonham and Brook, specialising in R&D Tax, with extensive experience in handling HMRC investigations and successfully concluding numerous cases. Kishan has specialist knowledge of HMRC’s internal processes and is highly skilled in conducting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Kishan provides Accountants a unique combination of tax and legal expertise allows him to provide well-rounded, strategic advice, guiding Accountants and their clients through every stage of the investigation process, from initial enquiries to resolution; including appearances before Tax Tribunals and Higher Courts with a 92% win rate.

 

Malcolm Henderson, Bonham and Brook Malcolm Henderson

Malcolm Henderson is the Compliance Director at Bonham and Brook, supporting Research & Development Tax Relief since November 2006.

From 2006 to 2015, he served as an HMRC R&D Unit Tax Inspector. Since 2015, he has been in private practice, ensuring R&D claims are both optimized and as robust as possible from HMRC’s perspective, and defending these claims when necessary against HMRC enquiries.

Kevin has been working in VAT since the 20th century!

He likes to talk about VAT and he loves helping clients. He is equally happy chatting with an adviser, presenting to a roomful of people, or discussing practical solutions with businesses.

Kevin advises a wide variety of clients, including property deals and construction works, international and cross-border transactions, schemes for small businesses, financial services, supply chain reviews, aircraft/yachts, mergers & acquisitions and reorganisations, HMRC investigations, partial exemption and margin schemes.

Kevin also writes and lectures on VAT and he has contributed to HMRC’s VAT Manuals, specifically in relation to financial advisers.

Paul is the tax director at IN Accountancy based near Stockport. Having started his career with the Inland Revenue Paul worked predominantly with “Big 4” accountancy firms for a number of years including a spell working in Perth, Western Australia.

Since his return from Australia Paul has worked for a number of firms providing commercially focussed tax advice to a broad range of owner managed businesses.


Katie Frost, PSG Bowdens Katie Frost

Katie qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant before choosing to specialise in tax. She completed the Chartered Tax Accountant qualifications, and is currently working towards her STEP membership. She has been working in private client tax since 2012, advising on Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance issues.

Katie has a particular interest in trusts and estates, providing compliance and advisory services to a large variety of clients. She provides expert witness services for court actions. Katie works alongside her accounting colleagues to provide an all-round approach to her clients’ needs; ensuring tax efficiency whilst maintaining business acumen.

He has 20 Years experience in Private Client compliance and advisory with a broad knowledge of multiple areas of tax.
