Renew your membership/practising certificate

The renewal period is now open.  

Your membership is due for renewal by the 1 January 2020.  

In order to renew your membership all you have to do is:  

  1. Complete your member return. 
  2. Pay the prescribed fees. 

If you are in practice and renewing your practising certificate you will also need to:  

  1. pay your member firm fee to ensure are currently supervised by the IFA for compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations (MLR) 2017, complete your member firm return and any subsequent affiliate returns (if applicable); or  
  2. confirm who your AML supervisory body is, if different from last year, and attach a copy of your Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) to the supporting icon section within your member dashboard. 

Making payment

  1. Go to www.ifa.org.uk. 
  2. Go to the login icon at the top right of the screen. 
  3. Enter either your IFA membership number or your registered email address. 
  4. Enter your password. 
  5. Select Annual Payment from the options on the left-hand side of the screen. This is where you can choose to reactivate your auto renew option for future membership renewal payments if you wish. 
  6. Follow the guidance and make payment. 

Completing the member return 

  1. Go to www.ifa.org.uk. 
  2. Go to the login icon at the top right of the screen. 
  3. Complete your annual mandatory member declaration. 
  4. Ensure your personal details are up to date. 
  5. Ensure your contact details are up to date. 
  6. Ensure your professional interests are up to date. 
  7. Ensure your CPD records are up to date. 

We will be able to release your 2020 practising certificate once all fees are paid, your annual member return, your annual member firm return and any subsequent affiliate returns (if applicable) are completed. 

Completing your member return and member firm return is an annual mandatory requirement as set out in the IFA bye-laws. 

If you believe there is any reason why you are unable to meet your member obligations, including incapacity, you must inform the IFA immediately.
