Graduates who have at least one year’s sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field can apply to become an Intermediate Financial Accountant IFA AIPA.
Graduates who have at least three years' sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field can apply to become an Associate Financial Accountant AFA MIPA after successfully completing the elective modules of:
- Audit and Assurance
- Principles of Taxation
And successfully completing and passing the following units from the IFA Direct education programme:
- Level 7 Corporate reporting for strategic business – advanced
- Level 7 UK taxation for business and individuals
Graduates who have not completed the elective modules detailed above will need to have at least three years' sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field and study the following units from the IFA Direct education programme before being eligible for Associate Financial Associate AFA MIPA membership:
- Level 4 Personal tax
- Level 5 Business tax
- Level 5 Assurance
- Level 7 Corporate reporting for strategic business - advanced
- Level 7 UK taxation for business and individuals
