Graduates who have at least three years' sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field and have completed the optional unit of:

can apply to become an Associate Financial Accountant AFA MIPA after successfully completing and passing the following units from the IFA Direct education programme:
- Level 4 Personal taxation
- Level 4 Law for accounting
- Level 5 Financial reporting
- Level 5 Business taxation
- Level 5 Assurance
- Level 7 Corporate reporting for strategic business – advanced
- Level 7 UK taxation for business and individuals
Graduates who have not completed all the optional units will need to have at least three years' sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field and study the following units from the IFA Direct education programme before being eligible for Associate Financial Associate AFA MIPA membership:
- Level 4 Personal taxation
- Level 4 Law for accounting
- Level 5 Financial reporting
- Level 5 Financial management
- Level 5 Business taxation
- Level 5 Assurance
- Level 7 Corporate reporting for strategic business – advanced
- Level 7 UK Taxation for business and individual
BA Hons Accounting and Financial Information Systems
