For students studying prior to 2018:

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance

Students who have completed the above degree will need to complete the following modules through the IFA Direct programme to meet the IFA’s educational criteria

  • 103 Principles of taxation
  • 203 Law for accounting
  • 209 Financial reporting
  • 302 Advanced taxation

BA (Hons) Business and Finance

Students who have completed the above degree will need to complete the following modules through the IFA Direct programme to meet the IFA’s educational criteria

  • 103 Principles of taxation
  • 203 Law for accounting
  • 209 Financial reporting
  • 301 Assurance
  • 302 Advanced taxation

Applicants who have achieved the educational criteria detailed above will also need to provide evidence of having completed a minimum of three years' work experience in accountancy or a closely related field.

Graduates gaining work experience can apply to become a Provisional Associate member.  

For students studying from September 2018:

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance 

Students who have completed the degree will be eligible to apply for membership of the IFA at Associate level where they are also able to provide 3 years of experience working in the accountancy sector or a closely related field. 

Graduates gaining work experience can apply to become a Provisional Associate member.

BA (Hons) Business and Finance 

Students who have completed the degree will need to complete the following modules through the IFA Direct programme to meet the IFA's educational criteria: 

  • 103 Principles of taxation 
  • 203 Law for accounting 
  • 301 Assurance 
  • 302 Advanced taxation

Once students have completed the modules detailed above they will be eligible to apply for membership of the IFA at Associate level where they are also able to provide 3 years of experience working in the accountancy sector or a closely related field.
