Graduates who have at least one year’s sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field can apply to become an Intermediate Financial Accountant IFA AIPA.
Graduates who have completed the degree and the following optional subjects
- Business taxation
- Performance management
- Business law
- Fundamentals of auditing and Audit and assurance
are seeking to become an Associate member of the IFA need to undertake the following units through the IFA Direct Education Programme Level 4 Personal taxation and
- Level 4 Personal taxation and
- Level 7 Corporate reporting for strategic business - advanced
- Level 7 UK taxation for business and individuals - advanced
through the IFA Direct programme to meet the educational criteria.
Graduates who have not completed all the optional units will need to have at least three years' sufficient relevant experience in the accountancy sector or a related field and study the following units from the IFA Direct education programme or provide evidence of having completed equivalent units before being eligible for Associate Financial Associate AFA MIPA membership:
- Level 4 Personal taxation
- Level 4 Law for accounting
- Level 5 Business taxation
- Level 5 Assurance
- Level 5 Financial and management control
- Level 7 Corporate reporting for strategic business – advanced
- Level 7 UK taxation for business and individuals
